On August 2, 1971, the Bulova Lunar Pilot made history together with the astronauts of the Apollo 15 space mission by guaranteeing the correct measurement of the parameters relating to the reserves of oxygen, water and batteries.
The Bulova Lunar Pilot was used as an on-board timer during the very delicate phases of re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

In 1979 it became part of the US holding company Loews Corporation listed on the New York Stock Exchange controlled by the Tisch family.
In 2007 it was sold to the Japanese multinational Citizen with the form of Limited Company
